Excellence Through Accreditations
As part of our strategy to meet our school objectives, we seek the following accreditations, from leading educational associations who assess and inspect the quality of standards of teaching and learning and the standards of management and leadership at The Gulf English School.
The accreditation processes provide the school community with quality assurance that provides a report of findings showing that GES has met exceptional quality standards and highlights areas for improvement that can be addressed moving forward. These accreditations have encouraged GES to be a positive and internationally minded school.
We currently have the following accreditations and associations:
CIS is a unique international accreditation with a major focus on student’s learning and global citizenship. The quality and rigour of CIS accreditation are recognized by ministries, departments of education, and universities across the globe. It helps schools access new international, educational practices, gain recognition for accomplishments, attract qualified staff, facilitate student connections with leading universities around the world and provide a quality international education experience to students, parents and staff.
GES first became a member of CIS in 2009 and started its first accreditation cycle where the school community carried out a self-evaluation process. After a five day visit by the CIS inspection team following submission of our self-study report, we were successfully awarded the CIS accreditation in 2012. The process enabled our whole school community to focus on standards to improve all areas of the school and address targets and recommendations made by the school community and CIS. Since then GES have written and provided CIS with progress reports in 2014 and 2015 to show the improvements and implementations of recommendations made from the CIS feedback report.
After another CIS team visit in May 2018, the school is undergoing the CIS review based on the 5 year CIS accreditation cycle. Currently, the school community is conducting the Self-study evaluation process under the new CIS guidelines to measure and evaluate the school alignment against the CIS standards. There is a lot of work involved for the school as we move forward but, as ever, we want to challenge ourselves and work with the CIS to ensure that we are doing the very best we can for the students in our care. This whole experience can only be positive for the school as we gain huge insight into how we can improve and where we stand in comparison to other International Schools all over the world.
We are always looking to ensure that the school is doing everything it can to provide the best possible education for the students it serves. There are always areas that could be improved and GES will always aim to be the very best it can be. We hope that all of the school community will continue to support our efforts in ensuring that we continue to be members of these esteemed educational bodies.
