The Vision of The Gulf English School is to provide a learning environment which is caring, motivating and supportive allowing all cultures within the GES community to achieve their personal best and to become responsible global citizens. We understand that for us to achieve this Vision we require the full support of each family within our school.
Ongoing research shows that family involvement in school life improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism and restores parents’ confidence in their children’s education. A student with involved parents earn higher grades, have better social skills and show improved behaviour.
With all this in mind, the Board of Governors of GES invited all the mothers of our school to High Tea on Wednesday 18th January 2017 in the Infant building. The event was attended by a large number of mothers from across all three schools and gave everyone the opportunity to meet each other and discover new ways to support the school and in turn their children.
Upcoming school calendar events were introduced and the mothers were delighted to get involved in as many ways as possible. The Tea provided mothers and staff with an opportunity to discuss ways to improve parental involvement within our school in a relaxed informal setting.
The group was addressed by H.E. Sheikha Al Anood Al Thani a member of the school board who reiterated the Boards commitment to meeting the GES Vision. The event was a remarkable success and we would encourage parents to look out for future opportunities to get involved in the life of The Gulf English School.
