This year, the Junior School has run its first class group football competition. Throughout the year each class has played over 20 games during break times against other form groups. The competition was split into two leagues, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6.
The football competition has proved to be very successful in providing our students with a healthy competitive environment that has allowed them to have fun while enjoying the wonderful game of football.
During the last week of the competition, the top 4 teams from each league competed in a playoff knockout competition that led to the finals that were played during golden time on Thursday27 April 2017.
The first final saw 4MF vs. 4MU, with 4MF coming out on top by winning 1-0 in this very competitive game. Congratulations to the students of 4MF on becoming the first winners of the Junior School Football League (Years 3 & 4).
Our second final saw a very competitive, highly anticipated game, with league leaders, 6BS taking on second place 6BF. The talent on show from our students was fantastic. At the final whistle, both teams were level at 2-2, meaning the game had to be decided on penalties. After some very good goalkeeping displays, the game was settled after 5 penalties each with a final score of 2-1 to 6BF. Huge congratulations to both teams for such a fantastic game and to 6BF for becoming the first winners of the Junior School Football League (Years 5 & 6).
We are already looking forward to next season’s competition!
